This is NOT a geniune Le Creuset item. All Le Creuset comes with a stamp on the bottom and that includes an identifying number in the middle... this particular item does not have that stamp. In addition, what appears at first blush to be a metal ring at the end of the handle is really a coating that will begin to flake off after minimal use. Pay a little more and get the real thing folks.
